Paper Submission

Submission Procedure

Full papers can be submitted from December 15, 2021 till February 20, 2022 through Conference Maker via this link:

CEMA 2022 is an in-person meeting. However, plans exist for hybrid sessions given that COVID-19 rules continue to substantially hamper international travel. To be clear, if your paper is accepted and you are unable to attend in person, there will be a hybrid option so that you can present your paper.

General Scope & Special Theme

The CEMA Annual Meetings are benchmark academic conferences, gathering researchers and practitioners engaged in the study or application of economics, finance, mathematics, operations, and risk management in commodity and energy markets. A partial list of markets and topics covered can be found here.

In addition to welcoming all contributions in that broad space, CEMA 2022 will put a special emphasis on ESG as it relates to commodities. A $1,500 prize funded by Amundi Asset Management will reward the best of the papers in this area, which are also eligible for inclusion in a special issue of the Journal of Commodity Markets.

The conference organizers also encourage the submission of papers at the interface of Finance and Operations. Program Scientific Committee members Nicola Secomandi (Carnegie Mellon) and Sridhar Seshadri (U of Illinois) will organize a focused track dedicated to this topic based on accepted papers.
